Theoretical and methodological grounds for social and psychological adaptation of individual in conditions of prolonged traumatization

Abstract

The paper deals with the social and psychological rehabilitation through the prism of technologies to restore and maintain personality’s psychological health which is deteriorating because of long-term traumatization caused by hybrid war. The key indicators of mental health are identified: integrity, self-realization, selfregulation. The auxiliary indicators on an individual psychological level are called: creativity, balance, adaptability; on value-semantic level: search for new meanings, experience comprehension, ability to enjoy life; on social and psychological level: tendency to cooperate, ability to empathize, responsibility towards society. There are developed the criteria to restore mental health: ability to achieve personal integrity and continuity, to gain self-faith and ability of self-support and self-help; the possibility to increase personality’s self-efficacy and ability to self-realization; possibility of strengthening the needs and motivation sphere, and value-semantic resources as a source of personality’s self-transformation; possibility to recover the ability of maintaining the constructive relationship with environment. The vectors of rehabilitation work are identified. They are components of personality’s social and psychological rehabilitation model which is focused on achieving sustainable self-acceptance, on restoration of self-efficacy, on capacity for the value-semantic renewal, and on improving the communicative competence
